The Bailey Family

I met Melanie about 8 or so years ago. She showed up with her friend Ashley over Memorial Day weekend to go camping in Moses Lake. She was seriously the most tan person I had seen in Washington in a long while! I was pretty jealous of her tan, that's for sure! That was in the day when being tan (and bleach blonde) was all the rage!
But anyways, we didn't really get to know each other very well until a few years later. I met Matt through some other mutual friends of ours and one night while we were out at the bar, he said Melanie was wanting him to come over and hang out. She was just shy of 21, so she was missing out on all the fun! I had no idea they were as serious as they were until that evening, and all the fellas started making "whipped" jokes at him. He could have cared less! He finished his beer as quick as he could to get out of there and to Melanie.
It's pretty cool to photograph a woman's family that I have seen grow from the very beginning, even down to her Zoe dog! (the yellow lab in the photos) She got Zoe around the same time I got my first dog, Kirra, and they met at Lake Tapps that summer. So to see her go from a senior in high school to this amazing wife and mother of two has been pretty neat!
I look forward to watching Logan and Levi grow up and to see what else the Bailey family has in store! They're a great family and wonderful friends to have.
